Hapen trail is built along with South River, it is a trail which connects Fushan and Hapen. In the ancient time, people of Taiya aboriginal use this trail as traffic way. Fushan is well forest without developing, there are abundant animals and plants resource. Because it rains often in the afternoon in summer, so this area is also named as "The Amazon in Taiwan".

Father and I always do hiking to Hapen every summer, and so did this year, too. From Fushan to Hapen, we had to cross four streams, and we arrived Hapen finally after four hours walking. Hapen is the headwater of South River. The River is extreamly clean, and personally, I prefer to enjoy the fun of fly fishing in the time of rest.

There were a lot of stripe dace in the past, however, the fishery resource now is few because of flood and overfishing problem. Even though, my well experience still could help me to find a good fishing point. And I caught several stripe dace with black stonefly and pheasant tail. Looking at the brilliant color of stripe dace, all I wish is that the beautiful forest, stream and wild lifes could be well forever.
